Elders (Session)

  • Dave Barfield

Dave was raised in the Philadelphia area and moved to Florida to study music and Bible at the fondly-remembered Clearwater Christian College. After grad school at the University of South Florida for music, he moved to China to teach music and do mission work. Dave and his wife Jess met at church in Colorado, where they were married and started their family. Along with their kids, Judah and Paisley, they moved to the Indy area in 2017 and have loved being a part of Christ Community ever since. Dave is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity with Reformed Theological Seminary and pursuing ordination in the PCA. When not reading or spending time with his family, Dave enjoys all things outdoors, all things soccer, and all things China.

  • Allen Barta

Allen and LeAnne met in high school and married in 1982 while students at the University of Texas. After graduation they migrated to Indiana where they raised five children. They came to CCC in 1998 where they were soon very involved in Children's Ministry before departing a few years later for an overseas corporate assignment, then returned to CCC in 2018. LeAnne is a retired homeschool mom, who now leads a nonprofit that addresses the prevention of tick-borne diseases. Allen works for a global aerospace firm in the areas of emerging technologies and innovation. He participated in leadership for many years in Bible Study Fellowship and sports ministry in the urban and homeschool communities. Allen now serves on the Missions Committee, an area where he and LeAnne have had a lifelong passion.

Michael and Rachel were married in 2010 and have been blessed with five children (four boys and one girl) born in odd years from 2013 through 2021. Seth grew up outside Atlanta as a PCA pastor’s son. He attended Emory University, majoring in Music and Religion, and moved to Indiana to Intern with the music ministry of Cru in 2002. He googled “PCA Churches near me” and loved the hospitable culture and people at Christ Community and has been attending ever since. Laura moved from Massachusetts to work with Cru as well and they met as they served together. They were married at Christ Community in 2006. They treasure the deep relationships they have here and love seeing their kids grow up in this community. Seth is now Co-Leader of Cru Music where he and Laura still work. Bill is an  aero/mechanical engineer and manager who retired from the Air Force and worked for Rolls-Royce here in Indy designing/making engines for aircraft and helicopters. Bill and Judy have lived in Carmel over 27 years and helped found CCC after similar church planting experiences in the Washington DC area. They have loved seeing the work God has done through CCC and the growth of the people and families of the church, not only in the Indy area but on the mission field. They look forward to the things He will be doing using His church here at Main and Gray in the next phase of its growth.

  • Scott Livermore

Scott Livermore grew up not far from Carmel, but his work with the high school ministry of Cru has taken his family all over (Phoenix, Chattanooga, Orlando and now back home again in Indiana). Scott and Kristin have been married for more than 25 years and have 4 wonderful children. Kristin started out life in the Chicago area and her family relocated to Chattanooga when she was in middle school. The LIvermores spend a lot of time with teenagers (most of which are not their own). The rest of their time outside of family is spent investing in the lives of people God has placed in their lives.
