Elders (Session)

  • Bukky Akinbola, Elder

Our family moved to Carmel in 2000 from Delaware Country, PA. We researched PCA churches in the Indianapolis area as we were making plans for the move.  We quickly settled in to Christ Community Church. Nene and I have been married for more than thirty years. We were both raised in Christian homes and came to profess faith in the Lord later in life. We have three sons and two daughters-in-law. We are truly blessed as we have found a loving community at Christ Community Church. We consider it a privilege and give thanks to the LORD for the opportunities we have to serve in various ministries at the church. We thank the LORD for giving us  a home church where we worship, pray and serve.

  • Todd Barrett, Elder

Along with serving as an Elder at CCC, Todd serves on the board of the Indianapolis Theological Seminary, is a leader in CCC's discipleship development program for adult ministries and serves with the music ministry. Past roles at the church include chairing the executive pastor search committee and leading the men's ministry. Todd is passionate about sound Bible-based study and training (2 Timothy 3:16-17) and discipleship (Matthew 28:19). Todd brings extensive business and financial leadership to the session at CCC, following more than two decades serving publicly held and private corporations at the accounting firm Ernst & Young (Indianapolis, Atlanta and Sao Paulo, Brazil).  He is a CPA and is currently the Chief Accounting Officer at a publicly traded specialty equipment rental company. Todd and his wife Cindy live in Carmel and have two children. He enjoys writing and recording music at his home studio, sea kayaking and alpine skiing.

  • Allen Barta

Allen and LeAnne met in high school and married in 1982 while students at the University of Texas. After graduation they migrated to Indiana where they raised five children. They came to CCC in 1998 where they were soon very involved in Children's Ministry before departing a few years later for an overseas corporate assignment, then returned to CCC in 2018. LeAnne is a retired homeschool mom, who now leads a nonprofit that addresses the prevention of tick-borne diseases. Allen works for a global aerospace firm in the areas of emerging technologies and innovation. He participated in leadership for many years in Bible Study Fellowship and sports ministry in the urban and homeschool communities. Allen now serves on the Missions Committee, an area where he and LeAnne have had a lifelong passion.

Mike was born and raised in a small town in Northwest Ohio. He and his wife Phyllis were both raised in Christian homes and were married in 1965. They were blessed with three daughters who are now all married and living in Carmel. They have also been blessed with seven grandchildren. Prior to retirement in 2008, Mike worked for General Motors and was transferred several times during his career. After retirement they moved to Carmel in 2012 and joined Christ Community Church at that time. Mike has previously been an elder in a PCA church in Naples FL. He joined the session in November of 2020 and serves on the shepherding committee.

  • Greg Borgard, Elder

Greg Borgard was born and raised near St. Louis, Missouri in a Christian home with loving parents and three older brothers. He met his bride Diane while attending Purdue University, and they married while both in graduate school at the University of Wisconsin. Since marriage, Greg's career as a chemical engineer has led them back to St. Louis, then Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and finally to Indiana where he works for Eli Lilly. They were blessed with three children. Since moving to the Carmel area in 2008 they have attended Christ Community Church and have enjoyed seeing their children grow in the faith. Dan was born and raised on the East side of Indianapolis. For the past ten years, he has served area churches as the Indiana Area Director for Man in the Mirror ministries. He and Maureen, his wife since 1979, raised four amazing children, all now graduated from college and happily married. They live in their “empty nest” in Westfield where Maureen is a high school Special Ed teacher. When not working, enjoying their Christ Community Church family, or traveling to see grandkids, they love being together hiking, watching movies or cheering for the Colts. Dan is also occasionally found pursuing hobbies beginning with the letter “B” – bicycling, barbecuing, or playing bluegrass music (on his bass).

Bill & Judy Kennedy have been married 35 years with four grown children (2 married) and four grandchildren. Bill is an  aero/mechanical engineer and manager who retired from the Air Force and worked for Rolls-Royce here in Indy designing/making engines for aircraft and helicopters. Bill and Judy have lived in Carmel over 27 years and helped found CCC after similar church planting experiences in the Washington DC area. They have loved seeing the work God has done through CCC and the growth of the people and families of the church, not only in the Indy area but on the mission field. They look forward to the things He will be doing using His church here at Main and Gray in the next phase of its growth.

  • Scott Livermore, Elder

Scott Livermore grew up not far from Carmel, but his work with the high school ministry of Cru has taken his family all over (Phoenix, Chattanooga, Orlando and now back home again in Indiana). Scott and Kristin have been married for more than 25 years and have 4 wonderful children. Kristin started out life in the Chicago area and her family relocated to Chattanooga when she was in middle school. The LIvermores spend a lot of time with teenagers (most of which are not their own). The rest of their time outside of family is spent investing in the lives of people God has placed in their lives. A favorite thing for them to do is cheer on their children in their various endeavors.
