The following books were recommended by Pastor Josiah Jones from his sermon, "Redeeming the Time" on Sunday, April 30, 2023:
1. Don't Waste Your Life by John Piper
Piper makes a passionate plea to the next generation to avoid the dangers of a wasted life, calling us to take risks and make sacrifices that matter for eternity — with a single, soul-satisfying passion for the glory of God that seeks to make much of him in every sphere of our lives.
2. What Are You Going To Do With Your Life? by J.D. Greer
This book makes the radical call to give your life away to the greatest cause of all. To view your life from the perspective of eternity. To start making decisions now that you’ll be glad you made then. It’s time to put your “yes” on the table and let God put it on the map.
3. Redeeming Your Time: 7 Biblical Principles for Being Purposeful, Present, and Wildly Productive by Jordan Raynor
Manage your time the way Jesus managed his with a biblical antidote to swamped to-do lists and hurried schedules. Productivity and time-management systems focus on individual habits rather than more meaningful and lasting lifestyle changes. But as it turns out, there is a better way to reach our full potential.
4. Crazy Busy: A (Mercifully) Short Book About a (Really) Big Problem by Kevin DeYoung
Kevin DeYoung addresses the busyness problem head on in this book, and not with the typical arsenal of time management tips, but rather with the biblical tools we need to get to the source of the issue and pull the problem out by the roots. Highly practical and super short, Crazy Busy will help you put an end to "busyness as usual."
